Description	:	Russell Christensen, 94, of Centerville, SD formerly of Sioux Falls, died Tuesday, May 30, at the Centerville Good Samaritan Center in Centerville. Russell was born September 14, 1911 in Kenmare, ND to Jens and Anna (Hansen) Christensen. The family moved to Sioux Falls in 1913, and he graduated from Washington High School in 1929. Russ joined the Navy in 1942, and married Flora Helene King on September 7, 1944, and was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1945. He later married Margaret Matheson on May 8, 1963. Read More	Russell Christensen, 94, of Centerville, SD formerly of Sioux Falls, died Tuesday, May 30, at the Centerville Good Samaritan Center in Centerville. Russell was born September 14, 1911 in Kenmare, ND to Jens and Anna (Hansen) Christensen. The family moved to Sioux Falls in 1913, and he graduated from Washington High School in 1929. Russ joined the Navy in 1942, and married Flora Helene King on September 7, 1944, and was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1945. He later married Margaret Matheson on May 8, 1963. Russ had worked as a salesman for the Argus Leader in Sioux Falls, Nash Finch Co., and most recently the Army Navy store in Sioux Falls before retiring in 1975. He loved to dance, and was an avid bowler for over 60 years, and loved to spend time with people. He spent most of his time volunteering at the VA Hospital in Sioux Falls, calling bingo at the Luther Manor, and was a member of the Color Guard for the VFW Post 628, and an usher at the Eastside Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Military order of the Cootie, Pup Tent #1, and had a very good sense of humor, and will be missed by all. He is survived by a daughter, two step daughters, 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren, and numerous step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Mildred, a brother Melvin, a daughter Jena (Krys) Fraser, and his wife Margaret. Burial to follow in the Rockfield Cemetery rural Beresford, SD. Arrangements by Hansen Funeral Home in Vermillion.
