On 05 Nov 1949, he married Donna Jean KLINE, who survives. Mr HOLLAR retired from the US Army after 42 years, six months & two days of civil service. He was born 14 Mar 1929, in Lima to Carl E & Pearl RIGGLE HOLLAR, who preceded him in death. On 05 Nov 1949, he married Donna Jean KLINE, who survives. Mr HOLLAR retired from the US Army after 42 years, six months & two days of civil service. He gained the respect of those who served above him & those who served under him. He also had been the shop chief for the Area Maintenance & Organization Shop, in Lima. He was a member of the Church of God at the Crossroads. He enjoyed watching Ohio State football. He liked NASCAR & woodworking, & enjoyed working on automobiles. His greatest achievement in life was raising his daughter & sons with his loving wife & watching them turn into successful adults. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors also include 4 sons, Russell (Tama) Jr, of Cridersville, Steven, of Fryburg, Brian (Judy), of Lima, & Keith (Tracy) HOLLAR, of Lafayette; a dtr Pamela, of Lima; sis, Gloria COVAULT, of Lima; a bro, Marvin (Nobu) HOLLAR, of Wheeling WV; 7 gr'chr, Stacy (Bryan) Ball, Aubrey (Rob) Cotter, Beth (Shaun) Garrett, Leslie Hollar, Kurtis (Danielle), Joshua & Justin HOLLAR; & six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Clifford, Don, Richard, Virgil & Darrell HOLLAR; & a sister, Margaret CASSARO. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wed at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home. The Rev. James Jamison will officiate. Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, with military graveside rites. Friends may call/Tuesday at the funeral home.
