Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at the Celebration Center, Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge. Chaplain Ron Kitterman will officiate. Ruth Elizabeth Heck was born on January 12, 1915, in Huntington, Indiana. She attended Lehigh Schools through the 8th grade. She then moved with her family to Wisconsin where she attended local schools, graduating with the Blue River High School class of 1933. She went on to attend teacher's training in Richland Center, Wisconsin, prior to teaching in rural Wisconsin Schools for four years. After returning to Iowa she enrolled at Upper Iowa University in Fayette. Ruth was united in marriage to Wm. Orville Conklin on December 31, 1941, by her father, the Rev. Lester Heck. She taught schools in the Burnside and Lehigh areas, Otho, and Fort Dodge. Orville passed away on May 8, 1978. Ruth retired from the Fort Dodge Public Schools later that year. On October 6, 1979, she married Don Indlecoffer. The couple made their home in Dayton and Harcourt. Don passed away on August 8, 2001. In October of 2005, Ruth moved to Fort Dodge. Ruth belonged to the United Methodist Church in Harcourt where she was active in U.M.W., taught Sunday School for over 50 years and also played the church piano for many years. She loved to read the Bible, and also enjoyed crocheting, china painting and playing dominos with friends. Survivors include four children, Sherill (Larry) Estlund of Lakeville, Minnesota, Dale (Pat) Conklin of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Shirley (Duane) Jordison of Fairmont, Minnesota, and Janet (Eddie) Peterson of Harcourt, Iowa; a step-daughter, Sally Sweeden of Harcourt, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Wm. Orville Conklin and Don Indlecoffer; two brothers, Ormal Heck in infancy and Sheldon Heck; and a granddaughter, Erica Jordison. Memorials may be left to the family's discretion.
