Description	:	EMMA RUTH WILLIAMS Emma Ruth Williams, daughter of Silas and Emma Lewis Shepherd was born May 3, 1895 in her parents home just north of Villisca, Iowa. She was the youngest of 12 children.She passed away April 28, 1982 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa, at the age of 86 years. She was the youngest of 12 children.She passed away April 28, 1982 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa, at the age of 86 years. Ruth was united in marriage to Wayne Spargur on March 16, 1919 in Villisca, Iowa. He preceded her in death. On October 18, 1949, she was unite din marriage to Boise (Mike) Williams in Corning, Iowa. Mrs. Williams lived most of her life in the Villisca area, except for a few years in California and Bondurant, Iowa. Ruth was a member of the Eastern Star of Altoona, Iowa and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the United MethodistChurch, both of Villisca. Preceding her in death besides her first husband Wayne, were her parents, her second husband, Mike, and eleven brothers and sisters, Myrtle Gaskill, Lou Higgins, Nellie Carlisle, Leon Shepherd, Walter Shepherd, Ella Penwell, Edward Shepherd, Pearl Long, Charles Shepherd, Bertha Parcher, and Russell J. Shepherd. Surviving include her step daughter, Mrs. Marion (Jim) Hutt of Minneapolis, Minnesota; granddaughters, Mrs. Louila (Alan) Bjork, of Des Moines, Iowa, and mrs. Julie (Joe) Stanik of San Diego, California; one great grandson, Michael Stanik, and several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. Wylma (Donald) Fisher of Villisca, and Mrs. Margaret (Wayne) Geer of Stanton. Services were held Saturday, May 1, 1982, at the United Methodist Church in Villisca with Rev. Clair Kerns officiating. Flower bearers were Leola Hart, Mrs. Wilbur Miller, and Mrs. Gale Fisher. Mrs. Kenneth Higgins sang, “How Great Thou Art” and “In The Garden”. She was accompanied by Martin Hentsch. In charge of the registry were Mrs. Davis Wagaman and Mrs. Geneva Taylor. Ushers were Verne Watts and Paul Fisher. Casket bearers were Wayne Geer, Warren Conner, Gale Fisher, Steve Fisher, Ted Evans, and Davis Wagaman.
