Description	:	Ruth L. Gorman, age 88, of Storm Lake, Iowa died December 15, 2013 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake. Ruth Lenore Cooper, the daughter of Granville and Harriet (Cook) Cooper, was born in Somers, Iowa, on February 16, 1925. Gorman, age 88, of Storm Lake, Iowa died December 15, 2013 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake. Ruth Lenore Cooper, the daughter of Granville and Harriet (Cook) Cooper, was born in Somers, Iowa, on February 16, 1925. She was baptized as an infant and later joined the Methodist Church in Washington, D.C. Ruth received her education in Linn Grove, Iowa and was a 1942 graduate of the Linn Grove High School. Following graduation, she resided in Washington, DC where she served as a secretary for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. During that time, she and her two sisters, Geri and Mickey, showed their commitment to their country by performing vocal entertainment to the USO troops. On October 5, 1946, Ruth was united in marriage to Henry Raymond Gorman in Storm Lake, Iowa. Together, this couple was blessed with a son, Bernard James. The majority of Henry and Ruth's married life was spent in Glendive, Montana where they owned and operated a bowling alley. The couple also resided for a period of time in Marathon and Storm Lake. Ruth was affiliated with the United Methodist Church in Marathon. Her special interests included music, various types of needlework, and playing cards. Ruth excelled in both golf and bowling and received many awards. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her quick wit. Ruth is survived by her niece, Susan Gieske of Alta, Iowa; nephew, Ray Meyer of Spencer, Iowa; one sister, Geraldine Holmes of Escondido, California; special sister-in-law, Ruth Cooper Johnson of Amana, Iowa; other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; son, Bernard; brothers: Charles, James, Forest, Edward, and Conard "Chub"; and sisters: Irene, Loretta, Edna, Vera, and Maxine.
