The services were conducted by Rev. M.J. Boyer and the Scripture lesson was read from a Bible purchased in the home town of Christ in Palestine, by Paul Dry. The cover was of material the same as used in the cross upon which the Saviour was crucified. Beautiful music was furnished by a quartet composed of Hazel Rieke, Lucile Davenport, Zora Mae Norman and Beth Bostelman. The pallbearers were: Russell Sommers of Byron; Dean Woodside of Hubbell; Fred Davenport, Ralph Hartman, J.D. Norman and Elwin Mumm. Honorary pallbearers were: Margaret Craig, Louie Alice Warthen, Irene Fraley, Edith Mae Adamson, Ruth Dugger, Dorothy Baugh, Helen Howell, Helen Mae Woodward and Gertrude Moxham. Flower Girls were: Iona Schooke of Hubbell, Pauline Chick, Beth Bostelman, Nellie Palmer, Ruth Palmer and Valora Church. The interment was made in the Chester cemetery (sic). OBITUARY Ruth Mae Dry was born and spent her entire life in Chester and this community. At the time of her death she was in her twentieth year. As a result of the teaching she had received in the Bible school she came into the church in her youth. Very early in life she was summoned to teach in the Primary department and spent the most of her remaining years teaching in the Bible school, and at the time of her death was pianist in her department. Ruth's faith in the Lord was immovable. She was a firm believer in prayer and resorted to this source for strength in times of trials. She would tell those about her of this wonderful fountain and admonish them to come and drink. She was always interested in the Christian Endeavor and all of the church activities. Last year she was superintendent of the Primary department of the Union Vacation Bible School. Ruth loved her home and was a wonderful housekeeper, always cooperative in the common duties of the home. She was always happy to help lift someone's burdens and met her many problems with the usual smile. She left last October for Los Angeles, Calif., to enjoy a visit with her brother, Paul, and with other relatives and friends. She died in the early morning of Dec. 19, 1934. The best medical science of the city was called to her aid, but with no avail. She leaves to mourn her untimely death, her father, Wm. Dry, one sister, Doris G. Palmer, two brothers, Paul and Jay, all of Chester, and many other relatives and friends.
