The following relatives were present: A. C. Parshall and wife of Quitman, F. M. Parshall and wife, J. H. Parshall and wife of Kansas City, Mo., G. M. Duffey and wife of Pattonsburg, Mo., James G. Parshall and wife of Kansas City, Mo., A. R. Parshall and wife of Wray, Olo., A. B. Rounds, wife and family of Wray, Colo., R. E. Parshall, wife and daughter of Cameron, Mo., S. J. Riggs, wife and daughter of Pattonsburg, Mo., Mrs. G. I. Worley and family of Kansas City, Mrs. Jane Mealey and Mrs. Clara J. Kyle of Pleasant Plain, Ia., sisters of Mr. Parshall, James Ross and wife of Central City, Nebr., a brother of Mrs. Parshall, and Mrs. Aseneth Baker of Fairfield, Iowa, a sister of Mrs. Parshall. These together with a host of friends spent the day in feasting and merriment. Perhaps the jolliest one of the entire group was Uncle Jim who has passed his 82nd year, and his good wife, Ruthilla, spent no little time in looking after all concerned. $50 in gold was presented to the dear old couple by the children, beside other gifts by relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Parshall were married at Fairfield, Ia., July 4, 1866, and came to Nodaway county in 1872, first living in Quitman for six years and then moving to near Skidmore, which has been their home for the past thirty-six years. Mr. Parshall is 82 years old and is a native of Fairfield county, Ohio. Mrs. Parshall was born near Chill, Ohio, and is 69 years old. Both of them are in good health. After many hours of pleasure and well wishing the company separated, bearing in mind, no doubt, that the day had indeed been one never to be forgotten. Many happy years to a worthy father and mother." ------------- Note: Mary Esther Parshall married Andy B. Rounds in Nodaway County on May 27, 1903. (Missouri Marriage Records, 1805-2002) They lived in Wray, Colorado and Denver, Colorado.
