Description	:	A Terrible Accident Last Thursday a little six-year-old daughter of Alexander Patch of Straight Creek township, burned to death. Mr. and Mrs. Patch were out in the field husking corn, leaving the children at the house. The little girl’s clothing caught fire in some way from the cook stove and she ran out and started toward the field. Mrs. Patch smelled the burning clothing and her husband started to the house through the field, and Mrs.Patch ran to the road and was horrified to see her child running with her clothing all burned off. Mrs. Patch smelled the burning clothing and her husband started to the house through the field, and Mrs.Patch ran to the road and was horrified to see her child running with her clothing all burned off. The unfortunate child lived but two hours when her intense suffering was relieved by death. We are indebted to Mr. Z Laurence for the above particulars of this terrible event. A very sad accident happened at Alex Patch's, southwest of town, on the Chick farm, which caused the death of their little girl, five years old. Mr. Patch was husking corn, and his wife went to where he was and left the children in the house. The little girl sat down on the stove hearth, her clothing took fire, and her seven-year-old brother ran out to call the parents, the little girl following, and when they found her all her clothing was burned off, and she was burned so she suffered the greatest agony for three hours, when death relieved her. The people sympathized with the family in their great distress and rendered all the assistance they could in the care and burial of this little one.
