Feindel 1962 Bridgewater Bulletin Friends will regret to learn of the passing of Sadie M., widow of Raswell M. Feindel, that occurred at her home in New Germany on Monday, April 30th. Although in poor health for some years, her death was unexpected and came as a shock to family and friends. She was, before marriage, Sadie M., only daughter of the late William and Hannah (Durling) Conrad and was in her 78th. year. She had resided in New Germany for the past fifty-four years where she took a keen interest in all community affairs. She was a charter member of the Sons of Temperance, the Women's Institute, and the Red Cross, during the years that these organizations were active in New Germany. A faithful member of the United Church of Canada, she had participated in the work of the Women's Missionary Society and the Ladies Aid, having served as treasurer of the latter organization for over forty years. She was a regular attendant at all services when health permitted and was present at the recent Easter service at Epworth United Church. For more than forty-five years she had been New Germany correspondent for the Bridgewater Bulletin, work that she continued until the time of her death. Surviving are a step-daughter, Mable L., widow of Harris E. Powers, New Germany; a daughter, Merna (Mrs. F. Seldon Chesley), Bear River; and one son, Ronald M., of New Germany. There are two granddaughters and one great grandson. Her husband predeceased her on May 2, 1960. The funeral service was held from Epworth United Church of Canada on Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Peter MacDonald and who delivered a comforting message and paid a fine tribute to the deceased. Hymns sung were "There is a Land of Pure Delight" and "Forever With the Lord," with Mrs. George Zwicker presiding at the console. Interment was in the family lot at Lakeside Cemetery where the committal service was conducted by Rev. MacDonald, assisted by Rev. Killam of the Baptist Church. Pall bearers were Crosfield Bell, Max Feindel, Eldon Wynn, and Reginald Trethewey.
