He was born May 6, 1893, in Palermo, Sicily, coming to this country and working in New York and Brooklyn. Read More	The following provided by Find A Grave contributor "Cara": The River Press, Fort Benton, Mont., 18 Jan 1956 Long Time Barber Passes Wednesday Salvatore Venitzia Stashi, a resident and in the barber business here since 1923, died at a Havre hospital last Wednesday evening. He was born May 6, 1893, in Palermo, Sicily, coming to this country and working in New York and Brooklyn. Later he was at Livingston, Mont., before coming to Fort Benton in 1923, where he spent the remainder of his life in the barber business. Sol Stashi was known to virtually all Fort Benton residents, and worked in probably every location and every barber's chair in this city during the past 32 years. A few months before his final illness he opened a shop in the Grand Union hotel building. He was married to Aagot Ronning in Fort Benton on Sept. 29, 1925, and is survived by the following children: Donald, in the U.S. marine corps at San Diego, Calif.; Edward, in the army at Fort Carson, Colo.; Leslie, in the army in Germany; and Oliver, Francis, Christine, Paul and Marcia, all of Fort Benton. He was a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge and of the Methodist church here. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Benton Funeral home with Rev. Roger Robison officiating. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.
