Description	:	Samuel Austin Young was born at Akron, Ohio, on May 17, 1857 to John Young (Memorial ID 129408581) and Jane (Carney) Young (#107056429), both originally from northern Ireland. His paternal grandparents were named Samuel and Isabella Young of Ireland. The family moved to Earlville, Delaware County, Iowa in 1861. His parents and three siblings are buried there in the Young family plot in Fairview cemetery, along with other family members. His parents and three siblings are buried there in the Young family plot in Fairview cemetery, along with other family members. He moved to Nebraska in 1879, where he filed on a homestead, located three miles southwest of Creighton, and his brother Thomas (#92549492) filed on a homestead near him. On December 25th, 1882, he married Orianna Wilson (#92549489), also originally from Earlville, Iowa. Five children were born to them, one of whom died in infancy. His wife Orianna was killed December 11, 1913 in a buggy accident. On October 18, 1916, he married Ella May Foster (#100605599) of Creighton, Nebraska. They farmed for many years on the homestead and moved to Creighton when they retired on November 30, 1937. They resided there until his death on August 24, 1945. Survivors are: his wife Ella Young and two daughters, Mable (Young) Wood (Mrs. Minton V. Wood, #55598811) of Elmwood, and Ethel L. (Young) Joyce (Mrs. Cecil G. Joyce, #92547123) of Bonesteel, South Dakota; two sons, Frank William Young (#54299656) of Ellensburg, Washington, and Charles Merle Young (#117859156) of Omaha; one brother, Thomas Young of Bazile Mills, Nebraska (#92549492) and one sister, Lida Jane (Young) Sawyer (Mrs. Richard Sawyer, #116929616) of Madison, South Dakota, and three grandsons, three granddaughters, two great-granddaughters, and one great-grandson. He was predeceased by his first wife Orianna, parents and grandparents, an uncle, James Young of New Castle, Pennsylvania (#176955947), an aunt, Mrs. Anna Warren (#84187926) of Akron, Ohio, brothers Alexander Young (#147203973), Charles A. Young (# 107056399), and John Young (#??) of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and a sister, Mary M. Young (#150303785) of Iowa.
