Description	:	Samuel Jacob Dead Samuel Jacob, 81, died suddenly of heart disease at 3:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at his home, 11 miles east of Emporia. Samuel Jacob was the last of the Jacob J. Jacob family, pioneer settlers in Lyon county, and had lived for 72 years on the land his father hmesteaded in 1862. He was born January 2, 1853 in Iowa City, Iowa, and was nine years old when the family came to Kansas. He was married March 10, 1880, in Emporia, to Celinda Almora Ray. Mrs. Jacob died March 24, 1923. Four sons and three daughters survive Mr. Jacob. They are Albert Lee and Vinton L Jacob of the home; Grover C. Jacob, Satanta; Jacob J. Jacob, Split Rock, Wyo; Mrs Lulu E. Piper, Emporia; Mrs. Georgia E. White, Vassar, and Mrs. Jennie E. Myers, Lander, Wyo. Sixteen grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive. Funeral arrangements have not been made.
