Description	:	Samuel Cornelius Hildebrand, youngest son of Samuel and Martha Hildebrand, was born Aug. 14, 1865, on a farm home four miles north of Winterset, Madison County, Ia., and died suddenly at his home, near Spring Hill, Ia., Oct. 21, 1942, his age being 77 years, 2 months and 7 days. Read More	Samuel Cornelius Hildebrand, youngest son of Samuel and Martha Hildebrand, was born Aug. 14, 1865, on a farm home four miles north of Winterset, Madison County, Ia., and died suddenly at his home, near Spring Hill, Ia., Oct. 21, 1942, his age being 77 years, 2 months and 7 days. He came to Warren county when he was 19 years of age. He followed the occupation of farming all of his life. For 55 years he had lived in the same farm house. Nov. 23, 1886, he was united in marriage to Rose Alexander, and to this union one daughter was born, Cretia (Mrs. George Hoover) of Indianola, Ia. Mr. Hildebrand and his wife took into their home, Eugene Alexander, whose mother died when he was born. When he was only three days old, these good people cared for him, and loved him as their own child. They educated him both in the public school, college and university, and had the satisfaction of seeing him graduate into the ministry of Jesus Christ. He is now preaching in the Methodist church at Coon Rapids, Ia. Mr. Hildebrand with his wife united with the Methodist church at Spring Hill and helped always in the growth and spiritual development of the church. His wife preceded him in death April 16, 1937. Besides his daughter, Mrs. Cretia Hoover, .......dren; nephews; nieces; and a number of other relatives and friends. Mr. Hildrebrand was a good husband and father. He loved his home and his children. He was a friend of all, and always lent a helping hand when help was needed. He was unselfish and loved his neighbors as himself. Those Christian characteristics of his life, made life worthwhile for others. He did not live for self alone; but shared his life with all. This was Christ's way of life, and such a life can never die. Services were held at the Spring Hill Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. A.N. Simpson, former pastor of the Church of Christ at Norwalk. Interment was in the Webb cemetery.
