I will attempt to find the picture and send it to this Memorial. Thank you. ------ He was the son of Johan Frederick SHOOP and Magdalena Maria GARMAN. Mary Ann (Polly) GARMAN was born Abt 1822 in Pennsylvania, and died Abt 1853 in Harrisburg, Pa. She was the daughter of John GARMAN and Elizabeth BARRINGER. -------- Samuel F. Shoop, 1818-1890, was buried in the George F. Shoop family plot in the Ida Grove Cemetery. Sarah Jane SHOOP was born Abt 1842 in Dauphin County, Pa, and died 1897. She married George WALLOWER about 1860 in Dauphin County, Pa, son of John WALLOWER and Catharine GERBERICH. He was born about 1840 in Dauphin County, Pa, and died 1889. ----- ii. George F. SHOOP was born 2 Apr 1844 in Dauphin County, Pa, and died 27 May 1927 in Blaine Twp, Ida, Iowa. He married Elizabeth CHUBB 1 Oct 1867 in Dauphin County, Pa. She was born 1847, and died in Blaine Twp, Ida, Iowa. He married Emma L. iii. Samuel SHOOP was born 6 Jan 1846 in Dauphin County, Pa, and died 27 Aug 1909 in Ida Grove, Ida, Iowa. He married Mary HOWARD 22 Sep 1866 in Coxestown, Dauphin County, Pa, daughter of Peter HOWARD. She was born Feb 1844 in Dauphin County, Pa. iv. John F. SHOOP was born Abt 1847 in Dauphin County, Pa, and died Aft 1913 in Baltimore, Maryland?. He married Lillian A. abt 1875 in Pennsylvania?. She was born Jul 1854 in Pennsylvania, and died aft 1910. v. Catharine SHOOP was born Abt 1848 in Dauphin County, Pa. She married Andrew SARKER. 1860 Susquehanna Twp, Dauphin, Pa census (with 2nd wife and his children from first marriage plus 2 children from his 2nd wife's first marriage) Samuel and Mary Ann Ogle Shoop divorced. 1870 Penn Twp, Perry, Pa census - page 199B (living separately from his 2nd wife and enumerated with Eliza Crous and her 2 children - 2nd wife and their 3 Shoop children living in Petersburg Borough) 1880 Swatara Twp, Dauphin, Pa census (with son George's family, listed as single - 2nd wife is living in Illinois, listed as a widow) Moved to Arthur, Ida County, Iowa in 1883 or 1884 and resided with son George and his family. NOTE: Samuel is married to Mary Ogle in the 1860 census with children Sarah, George, Samuel, John, and Catharine (from his first marriage) as well as 3 other children: Jane Ogle (age 7), John Shoop (age 5), and Peronia Ogle (age 5). In the 1870 census of Petersburg Borough in Perry County, Pa, Mary Ogle Shoop is alone with the 3 Shoop children from her marriage to Samuel (William and Anna, both aged 9, and Ida Shoop, aged 5) and again with Peronia Ogle, now aged 15. She is listed as "Mrs. Mary Shoop" and is next door to the Joseph & Anna Ogle family. Samuel Shoop in 1870 is also in Perry County, in Penn Twp, age 52 and with Eliza Crous, age 40 (listed as keeping house). Eliza has 2 children John (age 10) and Susanah (age 8). By 1880, Samuel is living, as a single man, with his son George's family in Swatara, back in Dauphin County. Mary Ogle Shoop is in the 1880 Wheatfield, Clinton, Illinois, with the 3 Shoop children, now saying that she is Mary Ogle and a widow!
