They were met at the foot of the altar by Rev. L. A. Dunphy, where the wedding vows were pronounced. Raymond Weston cousin of the bride and. Lawrence Lohmeier, assisted Father. Dunphy during the Nuptial Mass. Several beautiful selections were rendered by Clara Lohmeier, while Marie Finnigan of Grafton, presided at the organ. The bride was tastefully gowned in a broad cloth suit, with a blouse of real lace, a white picture hat and gloves to match. The bridesmaid wore a blue broad cloth suit, lace blouse and large blue hat. Immediately after the ceremony the bridal party went to the home of the bride's mother; where a five course wedding breakafst (sic) was served to forty relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Lohmeier left on No. 12 for a weeks visit to various points in the east. They will be at home to their friends on a farm south west of Sutton after March 1st . Many beautiful and useful gifts were received. The many friends of the bride and groom extend their heartiest congratulations for a long and happy wedded life. =========================== The Clay County News (Sutton, NE), Thursday, December 5, 1957; pg. 10 Obituary, Lohmeier - Final rites for Samuel G. Lohmeier, long time resident of the Sutton community, were held at St. Mary's Catholic church (sic) in Sutton, Saturday, following Rosary said Friday evening. Father F.J. Murphy officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Lohmeier, who had not been in the best of health for several months past, died at his home in Sutton Thanksgiving morning. He awakened, felt ill, called a doctor, received medical attention, and later passed away quietly in his sleep. The deceased, the son of Henry and Elizabeth Lohmeier, was born at Shickley, May 29, 1892. While still a youngster, he moved to the sutton community, to the farm located just east of the Sheridan home place where he lived for more than 40 years. A life-long member of the Catholic church, he and his family were active in church work. His father was one of the builders of the present St. Mary's structure in the early 1900's. Mr. Lohmeier attended local grade schools and later was a student at Spaulding Prep high school. On Febr. 6, 1917 he was united in marriage to Marie E. Farry. They lived on the near Sutton farm until 1949 when they moved to Sutton. Mr. Lohmeier assisted his sons in the operation of a cafe in Sutton for a number of years and was later employed at the Hastings Naval Depot. Preceding the deceased in death were his parents; his wife who passed away May 21, 1956; a daughter, Ethel; a son-in-law, Mark Carraher; two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are his children, all of whom were present for his funeral services; one son-in-law; 26 grand children; three brothers, Frank of San Francisco, Calif., Joe of Saronville and Charles of Lincoln; and two sisters, Mrs. F.B. Weiler and Elizabeth Lohmeier of Lincoln. Children are Harold, Palo Alto, Calif.; Don, Hebron; Jerry, Lincoln; Mrs. Mark Carraher (Virginia) Burlingame, Calif.; Wayne, Omaha; Dean, Waterloo, Iowa; Merle, Lincoln; Mrs. R.M. Morrissey (Kathleen), Pierre, S.D., Marcella, Burlingame, Calif.; Raymond, Omaha; Larry, Lincoln; and Francis, Sutton.
