He had suffered a stroke. Included among his survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Clara Bailey, 142 Arnold-av, Lancaster; and Mrs. William Dym, of near Clearport. Ten children also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 27 from St. Mary's church at 9:30 a. m. and burial will be made in St. Mary's cemetery by Egan funeral directors of Newark. FUNERAL NOTICE Lancaster Eagle-Gazette, Lancaster, Ohio, Tuesday, 27 Dec 1938, Page 2 Double Funeral Held Here Today Double funeral services were held in St Mary's Catholic church here today, for Mr. and Mrs. Louis Spickler, Newark, who died within two days of each other. Mr. Spickler, Lancaster native, died Friday, Mrs. Spickler was siezed with a heart attack Saturday night several hours after the body of her husband was returned home. She died Sunday at 2 a. m. Interment was made in St. Mary's cemetery for both. _________________________________________________ Per family lore, Susie Craiglow Spickler, wife of Samuel, went to Sheridan Funeral Home in Lancaster, Ohio on Dec 25, 1938 to make funeral arrangements for Samuel, who died on Dec 23. She came home, sat down in her chair and died.
