Description	:	Born on June 11, 1860, in Brown county, Ohio. Mr. Loyd came to Kansas with his parents when he was six years of age. Locating in Doniphan county he lived there until 1899. On September 2, 1896, he was united in marriage with Miss Lula Voelker, sister of the late Conrad Voelker. Locating in Doniphan county he lived there until 1899. On September 2, 1896, he was united in marriage with Miss Lula Voelker, sister of the late Conrad Voelker. Mr. and Mrs. Loyd then moved to Shannon township in Atchison county where he bought 160 acres of land on which he erected a fine brick home. Living there until 1920 he moved to the R. B Hawk farm near Effingham. Later they lived in Horton for a short time and moved to Muscotah in 1935 to be near his son Elmer. Mr. Loyd was affiliated with the Congregational church at Muscotah. The Atchison Daily Globe, 03 Sep 1896, Thu, Page 2 Samuel Lloyd and Miss Lulu Volker, who live north of town were married yesterday by Rev. W. F. Rentz. Both are quite well known, and an elaborate reception is being given this afternoon at the home of the groom's parents ten miles north of town. The couple will commence housekeeping at once on the Gear place, which has been purchased by Mr. lloyd.
