Sandra was born on August 9, 1943, in Oxford, the fourth of six children, born to Earl "Bill" and Grace (Bowen) Land. Read More	Sandra Jane "Sandy" Dawson, 77 years of age, of Oxford, died on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Bryan Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. Sandra was born on August 9, 1943, in Oxford, the fourth of six children, born to Earl "Bill" and Grace (Bowen) Land. She received her education from Oxford Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1961. On April 21, 1962, she was united in marriage to Gary Dawson at the old First Baptist Church in Oxford. Sandy worked at the Oxford Café prior to being blessed with five children: Raymond, Jerry, Jane, Jody, and Earl. The family made their home in Oxford, where Sandra focused on raising her children. In later years, Sandy worked for the State of Nebraska, helping others, and then she worked as an Avon Saleswomen, following in her mother's footsteps. Sandra was a member of the Rebecca Lodge, and the First Baptist Church in Oxford, often times helping operate the sound board, and serving on the Christian Education Board, teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, and was involved with the Christmas Cantata. She enjoyed the time spent with the Hustler Extension Club and the Ladies Auxiliary in Oxford. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and attending their school and extracurricular activities. Most recently, she enjoyed experimenting with new recipes. Sandra was preceded in death by: her parents; three siblings: William Land; Martha (Joe) Miller; and Georgia (Roy) Esslinger; one sister-in-law, Geraldine Longsine; and two brothers-in-law: Mearl Shellenbarger; and Herb Walters. Those left to cherish her memory include, her husband, Gary Dawson of Oxford; two daughters: Jody Bordewick and her husband, Todd of Garden City, Kansas; and Jane Ridpath and her husband, Fred of Oxford; three sons: Raymond Dawson and his wife, Cindy of Holdrege, Nebraska; and Jerry Dawson and his wife, Melody of Oxford; and Earl Dawson of Kearney, Nebraska; 15 grandchildren, including four granddaughters: Kayleigh Dawson, Elizabeth Lewis and husband, Brandon, Danielle Shada and her husband, Tyler, Alyssa Bordewick; 11 grandsons: Keenan Dawson, Brett Dawson and his wife, Robin, Brandon Dawson, Brock Dawson and his wife, Kristen, Beau Dawson and his wife, Desi, Brady Dawson, James Langie and his wife, Bridget, Levi Langie and his wife, Alexandria, Dakota Ridpath, Brook Stevens, and Michael Bordewick; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister: Beverly Phillips and her husband, Bill of Erie, Colorado; one brother: Robert Land and his wife, Charlene of Bertrand, Nebraska; two brothers-in-law: Darell Dawson and his wife, Betty of Hays, Kansas; and Conell Longsine of Phoenix, Arizona; three sisters-in-law: Betty Land of Nemaha, Nebraska; Jean Shellenbarger of Loveland, Colorado; and Jeanette Walters of Catherine, Kansas; along with many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
