Description	:	Sandra Jean Friesen ,62, of Lake McConaughy, died March 14, 2012 in her home after a four month battle with small cell carcinoma cancer. Sandie was born November 7, 1949 in Columbus, Nebr., the daughter of Lester and Darlene (Bohac) Schindler. After graduating from Schuyler High School in 1967 Sandra attended University of Nebr. Medical Center in the nursing program. On June 26, 1970 Sandie married Bob Friesen in Thornton, Colo. The couple made their home in the Broomfield area. Sandie was born November 7, 1949 in Columbus, Nebr., the daughter of Lester and Darlene (Bohac) Schindler. After graduating from Schuyler High School in 1967 Sandra attended University of Nebr. Medical Center in the nursing program. On June 26, 1970 Sandie married Bob Friesen in Thornton, Colo. The couple made their home in the Broomfield area. Sandie raised two children and took great care of her family. When her children got older she went to work for a homebuilder as a bookkeeper. After spending many enjoyable summers there, Sandie and Bob moved to the Lake McConaughy area in 2000 and built a new home. This is where they looked forward to spending their retirement years. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, reading, fishing and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandkids. Sandie golfed with the Ladies League in Oshkosh. Survivors include her husband Bob Friesen and son Tyler, both of Lewellen; daughter Robin Friesen-Holwell, her husband Kirk and children Colton and Macy of Longmont, Colo,; sister Deb (Jess) Kucera of Leigh; and brother Ron (Jan) Schindler of North Bend. The family chose cremation. There will be no visitation. The memorial service will be Friday, March 23, at 2 p.m. in Grace Lutheran Church in Lewellen. Vonnie Brown will officiate. A memorial has been established to the Shriners Hospital for Children, call 800-241-GIFT. Draucker Funeral Home of Ogallala is in charge of arrangements.
