Sara Linn was born in Ulrika Socken, Östergötlands Län, Sweden, on December 3, 1820. She was united in marriage to Andrew H. Somberg in 1848, they emigrated to America in 1851 and settled in Chicago, Ills., where her husband died of Cholera. Read More	Stratford Courier January 4, 1900 DIED - at the residence of her daughter, on Friday, December 29, Sara Linn, wife of Rev. John Linn, at the age of 79 years and 26 days. Sara Linn was born in Ulrika Socken, Östergötlands Län, Sweden, on December 3, 1820. She was united in marriage to Andrew H. Somberg in 1848, they emigrated to America in 1851 and settled in Chicago, Ills., where her husband died of Cholera. The fruits of this union were two boys, Melker and John, and in October 1853, in company with her two sons, she moved to Swede Bend. She was married the same year to Rev. J. Linn, the fruits of this union was five daughters of whom four are living, Mrs. Louisa Anderson, of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Sophia Peterson, of Slater, Ia., Mrs. Lottie Ringquist, of Burdick, Kansas, and Mrs. Carrie Fallein; at whose home she died and John G. Linn, of Marshalltown, L.M. Linn, and Mrs. Julia Berg, of Burlington, Iowa, Mrs. Mary Orman, of McKeesport, Pa., daughters of Rev. Linns by former marriage, whom with twenty-six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters and many dear friends are left to mourn her demise. When the Swedish M.E. congregation was organized in Swede Bend, in May 1854, she was one of the first to join, and she has been a member of this church for over forty years. Mrs. Linn was surly a true and faithful helpmate to her husband in his pastoral work at Moline, Rockford, Galesburg, in Illinois, and in Iowa at Des Moines, Sheldahl, Dayton and Stratford, at which places she was greatly loved by the members of the congregations, she has been feeble for many years, but bore all her suffering with Christian fortitude, always bright and happy, always a smile and kind word for her fellow beings. This last part of November she in company with her husband visited their daughter at Slater, and son at Marshalltown, where she remained a few weeks, returning home none the worse for her trip, but was taken sick a few days later and departed in a few weeks. Funeral services were held at the Swedish M.E. Church Sunday Dec. 31, 1899. Rev. J.E. Berggren officiating.
