Description	:	Mrs. Sara Teresa (Britt) O'Brien, daughter of Dr. Thomas F. and Mary Britt, was born at Lincoln, Neb., June 27, 1894, and passed away Thursday, Mary 23, 1974. While a small girl, she moved to Burwell, Neb. She was a graduate of Burwell high school and the Spalding academy. Read More	Mrs. Sara Teresa (Britt) O'Brien, daughter of Dr. Thomas F. and Mary Britt, was born at Lincoln, Neb., June 27, 1894, and passed away Thursday, Mary 23, 1974. While a small girl, she moved to Burwell, Neb. She was a graduate of Burwell high school and the Spalding academy. She attended the Lincoln School of Commerce in Lincoln, came to Fillmore County and worked in banks at Geneva and Crofton, Neb. She was united in marriage to George L. O'Brien on October 17, 1922, in Sacred Heart Church at Lincoln, Neb. They resided on the O'Brien homestead near Grafton, Neb. To this union were born eight children. In 1956 Mrs. O'Brien moved to Grafton, where she resided until her health failed her and she was hospitalized for one year and was then a resident of Heritage Nursing Home in Geneva, Neb., where she resided the past year and nine months. Mrs. O'Brien was a faithful member of St. Helena's Catholic Church in Grafton, where she was active in the church circle as long as her health permitted. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, and will be forever missed by her family and friends. Funeral services were held at St. Helena's Catholic Church on Monday, May 27, 1974, at 10 a.m. The Holy Mass was celebrated by Father Urban Schmitt, O.S.C., assisted by Father Ignatius Lempart, O.S.C., with Mrs. Paul O'Connor as organist. The song "Mother Dear Of Pray for Me" was sung by Margaret O'Brien and Pat O'Brien, grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa, in infancy; her husband,George L. O'Brien, on January 29, 1938, her parents; one sister and two grandchildren. She is survived by seven children, Mrs. Darrell (Frances)Fessler of Sutton, John T. O'Brien of Geneva, Lawrence G. O'Brien of Englewood, Col., Mrs. Eugene (Helen) Jennett of Grafton, Michael R. O'Brien of Grafton, Mrs. Mary McCarthy of Geneva, and Mrs. Kathleen Bender of Osceola; sons-in-law; daughters-in-law; forty-two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Clay DeLashmutt of Sterling, Col.; and a number of nieces and nephews. All surviving members of the family were present except William E. Jennett, grandson who is serving with the Armed Forces in Germany. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery in Grafton, Neb.
