Description	:	George L. O'Brien, the son of John and Bridget O'Brien, among the first settlers in this county, was born October 14, 1882, on the family farmstead, Bennett Township, Fillmore County, Nebraska. He was married to Sara Britt, October 17, 1922. To this union were born eight children. Little Theresa died at the age of one year. His wife, Mrs. Sara O'Brien; three sons, John, Lawrence and Michael; four daughters, Frances, Helen, Mary and Kathleen, all at home survive. O'Brien, the son of John and Bridget O'Brien, among the first settlers in this county, was born October 14, 1882, on the family farmstead, Bennett Township, Fillmore County, Nebraska. He was married to Sara Britt, October 17, 1922. To this union were born eight children. Little Theresa died at the age of one year. His wife, Mrs. Sara O'Brien; three sons, John, Lawrence and Michael; four daughters, Frances, Helen, Mary and Kathleen, all at home survive. He is also survived by four brothers, Thomas, John, William and James, all of Grafton, and five sisters, Ella, Bridgie, Mrs. James Murray and Mrs. A. N. Schaf, all of Grafton, and Mrs. Anna Lyhene of Sutton, Neb. Mr. O'Brien was an industrious farmer, a helpful neighbor and an excellent citizen, but is memory will be particularly revered as a kind and loving husband and father. In his death his family and the entire community have suffered an irreparable loss. His death, after months of patient suffering, occurred January 29, 1938, on the same farm where he was born and lived his entire life. funeral services were held Tuesday, February 1, at St. Helena's Catholic Church, Grafton with Father A.
