Description	:	Miss Sarah A. Green was born in New York near Utica, Oct. 21st 1838. She moved with her parents to Illinois when she was a small girl and grew to womanhood there. She was married to William F. Snyder Dec 28, 1865 in Oregon, Illinois. They came to Nebraska in 1873 and to Kansas in 1878. They settled on a farm north of Sabetha on Rock Creek where Swans live now. Green was born in New York near Utica, Oct. 21st 1838. She moved with her parents to Illinois when she was a small girl and grew to womanhood there. She was married to William F. Snyder Dec 28, 1865 in Oregon, Illinois. They came to Nebraska in 1873 and to Kansas in 1878. They settled on a farm north of Sabetha on Rock Creek where Swans live now. They moved in 1904 to the present home. Mr. Snyder was a Union Soldier during the rebellion and served terms in both Andersonville and Florence Prisons. He died in 1905. Mrs. Snyder united with the United Brethren church when a young girl living in Illinois. On moving to Sabetha she united by letter with the Congregational church. She loved her church and was a faithful Christian all her life. Her home was a haven of love and rest and had her best effort to the last. She was a lover of flowers and they grew and bloomed for her in great profusion. Five children blessed her home four of whom are living one son having died in 1888 when nine years of age. The living are Mrs. E. J. Bowers of Parsons, Kansas; Fred Snyder of Sabetha; William Snyder of Oak, Nebr., and Verna Snyder of Sabetha.
