Description	:	In her husband's will, she was only named as Sarah. Many people feel she is the Sarah Shiel that a man named John Archbold married in Dublin in 1789. The problem with that theory is that in the 1790 census records for Donegal township, Westmoreland County, PA, John and Sarah had a farm and 3 daughters indicating that they had been married for a number of years. Also John was in the Revolutionary war fighting Britain which makes him an unlikely candidate to travel to Britain so soon after the war even if he had the money and could leave... The problem with that theory is that in the 1790 census records for Donegal township, Westmoreland County, PA, John and Sarah had a farm and 3 daughters indicating that they had been married for a number of years. Also John was in the Revolutionary war fighting Britain which makes him an unlikely candidate to travel to Britain so soon after the war even if he had the money and could leave his farm for that long. Also there were dozens and dozens of Archbolds in the area of Dublin and Kildare. John's father came from Kildare where there had been Archbolds for over 200 years. By 1789 there were many John Archbolds and Patrick Archbolds, common names there. Eadestown in Kildare where there had been Archbolds for over 200 years is close to Dublin. Another problem with Sarah is her death date. Her tombstone was read many years ago. I'm sure it wasn't easy to read because it doesn't exist anymore. The readers said her death date was 1835. But Sarah Ann Archbold in the 1840 census for Archer Township who is listed as being between 80 and 90 years old. I think the death date might have been 1845 instead of 1835? Also her will dated 27 Oct 1841 SARAH ANN ARCHBOLD, WILL I, Sarah Ann Archbold, of the County of Harrison, State of Ohio, do make and publish this my last will and Testament. First, that all my just debts shall be paid, my funeral expenses by the arrangement of John Archbold, my (dear?) husband, was to be paid out of his estate after my death. The effects which I now do will and bequeath as property that I have acquired by my own industry and economy since his death and not of his estate. First I give and bequeath to my grandson, Moses Thompson Spencer, my young spotted mare, also my bed and bedding, that I do give and bequeath to Biddy Gordon, my granddaughter one bed and bedding, and the painted bedstead, and one spinning wheel, the bedding to consist of one underbed, one feather bed, two sheets, three quilts and one blanket. I do give and bequeath to my grandson, John Archbold Spencer, two quilts, two sheets and one blanket, six plates, and a new saddle worth twelve dollars. And I do give and bequeath to John Archbold Robinson my Black Cow. Also I do give and bequeath to Moses Thompson Spencer one new saddle worth twelve dollars. And my will is that the rest of my property be sold after my death and equally divided among my grandsons and daughters that is not named in this my last will and testament. And I do appoint Jack Richey, Executor of this my last will and testament--In witness, thereof, I have herewith set my hand and seal October the 27th AD, 1841.
