Description	:	Sarah Ann Garratt, life long resident of Wayne County died at the Leon Hospital Tuesday morning, March 11, 1952, after a short illness, at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 23 days. She was born near Harvard, Iowa, the daughter of James and Martha Kimple Hall, December 17, 1862. The family moved to the Hall farm west of Allerton when she was 3 months of age where she resided until she was united in marriage to John W. Garratt October 19, 1899. Read More	Sarah Ann Garratt, life long resident of Wayne County died at the Leon Hospital Tuesday morning, March 11, 1952, after a short illness, at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 23 days. She was born near Harvard, Iowa, the daughter of James and Martha Kimple Hall, December 17, 1862. The family moved to the Hall farm west of Allerton when she was 3 months of age where she resided until she was united in marriage to John W. Garratt October 19, 1899. At that time she and Mr. Garratt moved to the farm where she lived until her death. To this union two children were born, Zell and Boice J. both of Allerton. Mr. Garratt preceded her in death in 1933. When a young women she was united with the Presbyterian Church to which she never changed her membership. Besides her two sons she is survived by one sister, Martha E. Hall of Corydon; and one brother, L. L. Hall of Fullerton, California. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon, March 13, 1952, at the Randolph Funeral Home in Allerton. Reverend D. M. Crawford, officiated. Singers were: Mr. and Mrs. Don Duncan, with Mrs. D. M. Crawford, pianist. Pallbearers were: Glen Greenlee, Ralph Keho, Guy Sprow, Clem Bryan, Robert Bennett and Dale Lohr. Burial in Allerton Cemetery.
