Description	:	Sarah Ann (Harvey)Graves was born Frederic Co.,Virginia,Nov.14,1821.Her parents moved to Ohio when she was but an infant and settled in Jackson,Jackson County,Ohio,where she lived and grew to womanhood. In 1844 she was united in marriage with Aaron Graves. To this union was born 9 children, 3 boys and six girls. After this marriage they moved to Portsmouth,Ohio making their home for 2 years. From there, they moved to Jackson,Ohio and resided there for 9 years. From there they moved to a farm near Summerset,Indiana for 3 years . Then they moved to Hillsboro,Iowa arriving in 1855. Her husband was one of the many who in the year 1862 voluntered to join the army for our Country's cause. He was in the 25th regiment of Iowa Volunteers,serving for 3 years being discharged on account of the close of the War in 1865,returning home. He departed from this life in the year 1870. The rest of her life has been spent in and near Hillsboro,Iowa. She wan converted at the age of 16 years and joined the Methodist Church and has been a faithful member until God called her to his Home. Graves Dead, "Hillsboro, Iowa, Dec. 27,—Sarah Ann Harvey, born in Frederic county, Virginia, November 14, 1821, passed away last Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1913, at her home in Hillsboro, Iowa. To her own family she had been a very kind and devoted mother. She was greatly respected and honored by all who know her, even in her very old age. When sixteen years old she was converted to the Christian faith and joined the Methodist Episcopal church and remained a very faithful and enthusiastic member until her last. In 1844 she was united in marriage to Aaron Graves. To this union were born ten children, of whom four preceded the mother into the beyond. Her husband, who passed away in 1870, was one of the many volunteers in the civil war, joining the 25th regiment of Iowa volunteers in 1862, and was honorably discharged at the close of the war. Those early settlers came from Summerset, Indiana, to Hillsboro, Iowa in 1855. — The funeral services were held on last Wednesday afternoon, December 24, from the old home, and the Methodist Episcopal church in Hillsboro. Rev. O. J. Fix, of Burlington, a former pastor of the deceased, was called to deliver the funeral message on the subject, "The Good Fight." The services were conducted by Rev. S. F.
