Read More	Brief reference was made in these columns last week to the death of Mrs. Wm. H. Bly at her home in Long Beach, California. She had been in failing health for about a year from a complication of ailments, which could not be overcome, although everything possible was done for her relief. She passed on at her home there on Sunday, October 22, 1922, at 4:30 p.m., at the age of 60 years, 11 months, and 1 day. Sarah Anna Best, youngest daughter of William Best and Dianna Wise Best, was born on the old homestead near Davis, Winnebago county, Illinois, November 21, 1861, where she grew to womanhood and resided until March, 1884, when with her parents, she moved into DAvis, Ill. On June 28, 1885, she was united in marriage with William H. Bly, after which they immediately went to houskeeping on his farm in Spink township, Union county, South Dakota. In 1891 they moved to Akron, Ia. where Mr. Bly went into the hardware business. They continuously made their home here until August 23, 1917, when they moved to Los Angeles, Cal., moving from there to Long Beach in 1920. To Mr. and Mrs. Bly two sons were born, Arlo, who passed away March 8, 1895, at the age of seven years, and Alvin, who with her husban, are left to mourn the loss of a kind and devoted wife and mother. There also survive one sister, Mrs. Sofia B. Martin, both of Elk Point, S. D., besides numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Following a service held in the chapel at long Beach on Wednesday, October 25, at 3 p.m., the remains were shipped to Akron, accompanied by the husband and son ariving here Monday evening. At the home of Mr. Bly's nephew, Lewis Bly, the simple but impressive funeral service of the Christian Schience church was held Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Mr. S. J. Trumbauer, reader; Mrs. Widby, soloist, and an accompanist, from Sioux City. Many old-time friends were present. The pallbearers were S. C. Jenkins, C. H. Reams, C. G. Brady, W. W. Burrill, I. Halvorsen and W. J. Bennett. There were many beautiful floral offerings. Iiterment was in Riverside cemetery, beside the son who preceded her many years ago.
