Pall bearers were Mrs. Overley’s nephews: Sam Ulery, Eli Ulery, Wm. Ulery, John Tridle, Grover Tridle, and Jim Huff. Sarah Ann Edgecombe was born in Allen County, Ohio on April 11, 1843. She moved from Ohio to Piatt County, Illinois in 1863, and was there united in marriage to John Overley December 18, 1864. She with her family came to Kansas in 1873, and Osage township was her home the remainder of her life. Mr. and Mrs. Overley spent much of their married life on their farm one mile north of Monmouth, but they also lived in McCune a good many years. After living in McCune a number of years, they moved back to their farm, where they lived until last spring, when they again took up their residence in McCune. Early in life Mrs. Overley gave her heart to God and united with the Brethren Church. She was a kind mother, a loving wife, and very devoted to her home. She was the mother of two sons and five daughters. One son, Harry M. and one daughter, Minnie Hartman preceded her in death. There remain to survive her, her companion, John Overley and five children as follows: William C. Overley of Branson, Mo; Cora House of Seattle, Washington; Ella Smith of Decatur, Illinois: and May Buzac (n?) and Emma Overley at the home. There are also fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Also one sister, Mrs. Ellen J. Tridle of McCune, and many friends.
