SADIE HILLYER HELD APRIL 26 Mrs. Sadie Hillyer, 69, passed away at a hospital in David City Monday, April 25, following a lingering illness. She recently underwent surgery at the University hospital in Omaha and since that time had been cared for by her daughters, Mrs. John Bolen and Mrs. Genevieve Rurup. SADIE HILLYER HELD APRIL 26 Mrs. Sadie Hillyer, 69, passed away at a hospital in David City Monday, April 25, following a lingering illness. She recently underwent surgery at the University hospital in Omaha and since that time had been cared for by her daughters, Mrs. John Bolen and Mrs. Genevieve Rurup. Her maiden name was Sarah Belle Cullison and she was born at Central City, April 5, 1880. Her parents were Judson and Cowline Cullison. On September 22, 1902, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Hillyer, who was a Ulysses druggist for many years. To this union, five children were born, Clair of Sargent, Von of Tecumseh, Mrs. John Bolen and Mrs. Genevieve Rurup of Ulysses, and Reed, deceased. Surviving also are three grandchildren, Noreen and Rodney Rurup of Ulysses and Linda Sue Hillyer of Lincoln; one brother, Ed. Cullison of Central City and one sister, Mrs. Miranda Wheeler of Spokane, Wash. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, April 26, at 2:30 p. m., at the Methodist church with the Rev. Brox officiating. Music was furnished by a quartet, Georgia Woodruff, Maxine Foster, Bob Woodruff and Loy Hersh, Mrs. Ben Heard was accompanist. Serving as casket bearers were Joe Krohn, John Sanley, Paul Hurt, George Miller, Fred Mittendorf, Jr., and Jack Sanley. Burial was in the Ulysses cemetery. Here from out of town for the services, besides the immediate family, were Mrs. A. P. Hillyer and Mrs. Lois Hillyer of Lincoln, Ed Cullison of Central City and Mrs. Tena Pendell, Mrs. Winnie Cardwell, Mrs. Imig and Mrs. Brunnell of Seward.
