They had three sons, James Monroe, William Andrew, and Newton Absalom Josiah "Jody," and three daughters, Martha Louisa Elizabeth, Sarah Rebecca, and Mary Jane. The Rorie and Ticer families journeyed by wagons pulled by oxen to Roasting Ear Creek, Searcy County (Now Stone), Arkansas, in the 1840's.
