Description	:	Mrs. Sarah E. Legg, 94, mother of Mrs. Nannie Grishaw of this city, and Omer Legg of Ann Arbor, Michigan, died at the family home on North West street Tuesday a.m. at 2:15 o'clock. Death followed an illness of several weeks, she becoming ill with cold and a general breakdown followed, due to her advanced age. Legg, 94, mother of Mrs. Nannie Grishaw of this city, and Omer Legg of Ann Arbor, Michigan, died at the family home on North West street Tuesday a.m. at 2:15 o'clock. Death followed an illness of several weeks, she becoming ill with cold and a general breakdown followed, due to her advanced age. The son Omer Legg, has been at her bedside practically all of the time since her illness. With the passing of Mrs. Legg, the county loses its oldest resident and one it its best loved women. For the past few days her family had realized that she was gradually growing weaker and her death was not unexpected. The deceased was one of the remarkable women of the community. Besides having been a resident of the county for more than seventy five years she retained all of her faculties until the last and by enjoying remarkably good health for one of her advanced years, she made a most interesting companion at all times and on many subjects as she was personally familiar with the early history of the county and retained a great collection of facts of these early times but she was able to keep abreast of the times and in a discussion of present day affairs, she was able to converse with a surprising knowledge of conditions and of facts. At the age of fourteen, Mrs. Legg made her confession of faith and united with the church. Since coming to Tipton her membership had been with the West Street Christian church and she was one of the faithful, devout members. At the beginning of the year 1923, a public announcement was made in the Sunday school and church, that during 1922, she had never missed at Sunday school and remained for church services. When she was past eight years of age, she went to the park during Chautauqua time and camped out during the week with her family. This was an enjoyable event for her. Mrs. Legg was more familiarly known to her friends as Grandmother Legg.
