Description	:	Sadie Elizabeth Daft, daughter of the late William H. and Martha Ann Shelton, was born in Jefferson County, Iowa on May 31, 1863 and died at her home near Grant, February 4, 1937, at the age of 73 years. When she was a young woman, she came to make her home with her sister, the late Mrs. K. B. Kirby, near Griswold. While there she united with the Bethel Presbyterian Church from which she later transferred her membership to the First M. E. Church at Grant. Read More	Sadie Elizabeth Daft, daughter of the late William H. and Martha Ann Shelton, was born in Jefferson County, Iowa on May 31, 1863 and died at her home near Grant, February 4, 1937, at the age of 73 years. When she was a young woman, she came to make her home with her sister, the late Mrs. K. B. Kirby, near Griswold. While there she united with the Bethel Presbyterian Church from which she later transferred her membership to the First M. E. Church at Grant. Miss Shelton and Mr. Daft were united in marriage at the Kirby home three miles east of Griswold, October 14, 1891, and have since made their home on a farm near Grant. To this marriage four children were born; Glenn, who preceded his mother in death; Ruth at home; Guy of Griswold; and Floyd of Rochester, New York. Surviving are her husband, three children, five grandchildren, one brother, John A. Shelton of Butte, Montana. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the M. E. Church with Rev. Frank Moore in charge. The singers were Cecil Weaver, Morris Weaver, Mrs. Clair Schuler, and Mrs. Dean Schuler, accompanied at the piano by Gladys Schuler. The pall bearers were Henry Holdrof, Harvey Weaver, Raymond Dallinger, James Telder, Victor Hardin, and Lloyd Telder. Burial was in the Grant Cemetery.
