Lovegrove of Geneva township passed away at 12:30 a. m. December 1, 1940, at a hospital in Geneva, Neb. She had been suffering from heart trouble and was in a diabetic coma a few days before death. Sarah Elizabeth Wadman was born February 7, 1875, near Friend, Neb. She was the eldest child of John and Mary Wadman. May 10, 1896, she was united in marriage to Robert H. Lovegrove. They resided southeast of Exeter until 1918, when they moved to a farm in Geneva township. The years ago, they retired to their present location, three miles north and one and one-half miles west of Geneva. Mrs. Lovegrove had been in poor health for several years. She became seriously ill Monday, November 25. All that loving hands could do was done to restore her to health, but she passed away at 12:30 a. m. at the Fillmore hospital in Geneva, Neb., Sunday, December 1, 1940, at the age of 65 years, 9 months, and 23 days. Left to mourn her passing are her husband, three sons, Walter of Geneva, Roy and George of Fairmont, one daughter, Mrs. Ray Ainsworth of Fairmont, twelve grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Henry Lane of Dalton, Neb., and many other relatives and friends. A daughter, Ethel Lucille died in infancy. Four brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Methodist church in Geneva. She was a devoted wife and mother, a neighbor willing to help in any need. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The funeral occurred at the Geneva Methodist church at 2 p. m. Tuesday, December 3, the pastor, Rev. W. B. Pardum, officiated. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal Dec. 5, 1940 page 1.
