Description	:	LOVEGROVE, GEORGE E.—George E. Lovegrove, youngest son of Robert and Sarah Wadman Lovegrove, was born on a farm south of Friend, Neb., March 2, 1903. They moved to a farm... Read More	LOVEGROVE, GEORGE E.—George E. Lovegrove, youngest son of Robert and Sarah Wadman Lovegrove, was born on a farm south of Friend, Neb., March 2, 1903. He passed away very suddenly at his home northwest of Geneva, Neb., Thursday evening, May 23, 1957 about 6 o’clock, at the age of 54 years, 2 months and 21 days. He grew to manhood in this community, moving with his parents to a home six miles northwest of Geneva in 1918. March 1, 1925, he was united in marriage to Alice Ainsworth at Belleville, Kas. They moved to a farm eight miles northwest of Geneva, where they had since resided. To this union were born two sons and two daughters, Lila Mae (Mrs. Robert Bettger), Dale Edward and Robert Dean, all of Fairmont, and Marjorie Lucille, (Mrs. Keith Burt) of Harvard. George was a man who loved the great out-of-doors. He enjoyed his farming and working with cattle and was always interested in any new developments for improvements in agriculture. At one time he owned and operated a fleet of combines and trucks and did extensive combining in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, also at his ranch between Aberdeen and Redfield in South Dakota, where he pastured Hereford cattle. During the past six months, his health seemed to be slowly failing. He took much pleasure in driving around the countryside observing the changing scenes. His principal interests were his home and his family and he was a loving husband and father. He had a cheerful disposition and was always good natured. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Alice, two sons, Dale and Robert Dean, two daughters, Lila and Marjorie, two daughters-in-law, Jean and Shirley, two sons-in-law, Robert Bettger and Keith Burt, and nine grandchildren, Bobby, Billy and Paul Bettger, Susan and Shari Lovegrove, Jimmy and Johnny Lovegrove, Linda and Beverly Burt, one sister, Pearl (Mrs. Ray Ainsworth) of Geneva, besides other relatives and friends. His father, mother, and two brothers, Walter and Roy, preceded him in death. Services were held at the First Methodist church, Geneva, Sunday afternoon, May 26. Dr. F. E. Pfoutz gave the tribute. Ralph Reemts sang “Beyond the Sunset,” and “Beautiful Isle.” Miss Harriett Scott provided organ music. The pallbearers were John Burt, Clyde Ewart, Howard Miller, Clarence Oberlander, Edwin Wild and Wayne Winchell. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal 30 May 1957 page 9.
