(Pawnee Republican, Nov. 18, 1943.) FORMER RESIDENT BURIED IN PAWNEE CITY MONDAY Final services for Mrs. Sarah Gertrude Beeler, a sister of Mrs. J. E. Liebendorfer, were jeld Monday morning at the Pawnee City cemetery and interment was in the family lot. Services were in charge of Rev. H. A. Thompson. Mrs. Beeler died Oct. 31 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Redford, at Ashland, Ore., and the following information is taken from the Ashland Daily Tidings: A wide circle of friends will mourn with the relatives in the sudden passing of Mrs. Sarah Gertrude Beeler, mother of Mrs. Walter Redford, at her home, 427 Palm avenue, Sunday morning. Mrs. Beeler had just returned from a visit with her sister and other relatives and friends in Seattle and Centralia, Wash., and was down town on Saturday. Mrs. Beeler was born in Pawnee City, Nebr., Aug. 14, 1868, of an old pioneer family, her father one of the founders of the city. She spent her girlhood in Pawnee City and was graduated from the Peru normal school of Nebraska, and taught until her marriage to Taylor Beeler in 1892. After that the home was in Kansas until she came to Seattle in 1906. For the past 17 years she had made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. Walter Redford of this city. Mrs. Beeler was widely traveled. She had made many long trips through the United States, Canada and Mexico. Her last long trip was to visit her son, Col. D. T. Beeler, in Maine. She was affiliated with the Order of the Eastern Star, her membership being in Seattle, as was her membership in the Presbyterian church. Those surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Walter Redford, and son-in-law, Dr. Walter Redford; a son Col. D. T. Beeler, and wife, Margaret, of Wilmington, M.C.; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. M. E. Marsh of Wheeling, W. Va. Mrs. J. E. Liebendorfer of Pawnee City, Nebr., and Mrs. R. H. Goddard of Rochester, Wash., other relatives , and many friends. The final tribute of love and respect was paid in impressive services Tuesday. A comforting message was spoken by Rev. James H. Edgar, and the complete ritualistic service of the Order of the Eastern Star was given. Final interment will be made in the family plot in the old home in Pawnee City, Nebr.
