In the passing of Mrs. Hoyle is a personal grief for each one of us for we all admired and respected her for what she was. In losing her as our president of the E. V. White Chapter, U.D.C, we have sustained a mighty loss; she was truly our leader. Her scholarly mind, her untiring efforts, and her love of the Confederacy were her notable characteristics. She was always so willing to help us when we were trying to do our might toward our duty. We few have traveled all these years of the life of the chapter very closely. Being a few has drawn us closer to each other for it has been a struggle to keep life and interest when our members have been so widely scattered. But our loyalty has brought us to 1947. Each member should feel we have accomplished much. Our Chapel will represent our work for many years and it is a great asset to our beautiful cemetery. We have kept faith with our obligations to the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Now it looks as though the E.V. White Chapter life has been well lived. It would have been a great sorrow to our president for us to disband, but I cannot help from feeling that in her heart she knew it was inevitable. We can truly say of Mrs. Hoyle...
