As her friends flocked into the home to greet her, adjournment was taken to the lawn, where ice cream, cake and coffee were served. A beautiful birthday cake, decorated with smilax, flowers and tiny American flags, was brought out, being also adorned with eight candles on one side and eight on the other, to signify the goodly number of years which had been hers. The guest of honor of yesterday's celebration carries her years well. An interesting life has been hers. Born in Robenette (Rolvendon), Kent, England, she went to Australia in 1838m crossing the Atlantic in the schooner "Westminster." In Australia, she was married to Thomas Hawker, and in 1845 came to America, arriving in San Pedro on May 13, in the same year. They came immediately to San Bernardino where she has lived ever since. With her family of 10 children and grandchildren, and great grandchildren, Mrs. Hawker has over 120 descendants, and is exceedingly proud of her family, and the good health which has accompanied her long life. White, John Dewar Jr., and Otto De Witt. Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery.
