Description	:	Sarah Luella Neese, long time resident of Stratford, died Saturday evening, June 25, 1949, at 8:30 o'clock in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Howard Augustine, near Orient, after a several months illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Baptist church at Stratford and were conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Arthur Westerhoff. Singing included selections: "Beyond the Sunset," by the Rev. and Mrs. Westerhoff, and a solo, "God Understands," by Norman D. Erickson, with Mrs. Norman D. Erickson as accompanist. Deceased was born March 7, 1874, in Hamilton county, Iowa, near Stratford, the second daughter of Lewis M. and Christina Linn, and was 75 years, 3 months, and 18 days of age at the time of her death. Her girlhood was spent on the Linn farm south of Stratford. She was united in marriage to William A. Neese, March 18, 1896, and to this union five children were born; Vergie Augustine, and Melvin, of Orient, Iowa; Roy of Glen, Minn.; Mrs. Henrietta Westrum of Lorimor, Ia.; and Van of Burlington, Iowa. In 1904 she became a member of the Christian church. Her devotion for her family was unbounded. She was never too busy to lend a helping hand in times of need. She was preceded in death by her husband May 29, 1929. She is survived by her children, 15 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Stella Fry of Stratford, Mrs. Meda Fry of Ringsted, and one brother, Clarence Linn, of E
