At the age of six years, (1873) she moved with her parents to York County, Nebraska. In the year 1879, when she was twelve years of age she came to Custer County, Nebraska, with her parents, who settled on a piece of land about two miles east and a mile and half north of where Sargent now stands. Read More	Her obituary reads: Sarah Margaret Hendrickson was born March 1st, 1867 at Lincoln, Logan county, Illinois. At the age of six years, (1873) she moved with her parents to York County, Nebraska. In the year 1879, when she was twelve years of age she came to Custer County, Nebraska, with her parents, who settled on a piece of land about two miles east and a mile and half north of where Sargent now stands. Sargent not having been found at that time. July 10th, 1882, she was united in marriage to John R. Dye. For several year they lived on a farm in the hills north east of Sargent. Then they moved onto a piece of land a few miles east of Sargent. Then they moved for several years after which they moved to the Walworth County spending fourteen years there. Nine years ago they took land in the sand hill county, Almeria being their post office. To them thirteen children were born, ten sons and three daughters. They are Mrs. Allie Bell of California; Mrs. Blanche V. Sargent of Walworth, Ira W. Dye of California, George L. Dye of Grand Island, Nebraska, Henry E. Dye of Almeria, Gifford L. Dye of California, Mrs. Laura E. Trindel of Almeria, Frances, Clarence H., Caleb M. Paul, Carl and Emmett Dye of Almeria. In addition to those already named, she leaves to mourn her death, her husband, a number of grandchildren, her mother Mrs. Wm Kirkpatrick of Gresham, Nebraska, five sisters Mrs. Sadie Linstrom of Gresham, Nebraska, Mrs. Kate Roe of Omaha, Mrs. Minnie Carpenter of Burwell and Mrs. John Stout of Wisconsin, and three brothers, Charles Hendrickson of Omaha and James Hendrickson of Iowa. One sister and two brothers preceded her in death by many years. We were not about to learn one of the five sisters mentioned in the preceding resides, nor her last name. She is her sister Jennie. Mrs. Dye passed from this life, professing faith in her Savior. The funeral services were held at the Free Methodist Church, the Pastor Rev. George W. Johnston having charge of the service. The pallbearers were chosen from her sons and sons-in-laws. She was buried in the Sargent cemetery. All of her children were present at the funeral excepting Mrs. Bell, Ira, Gifford and George Dye already mentioned.
