Sarah Linebrink, née Radenbough, was born near Payne in Paulding County, Ohio on July 28, 1852 and died September 8, 1927 at 3:35 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Erva Snellenberger, where she spent her last week in this life in ease and contentment of soul and body. Her departing to be with Christ, her dear Savior, was a quiet and peaceful event. The cause of her decrease was heart trouble. Her age was 75 years, 1 month and 11 days. In 1870 she united in happy wedlock with Mr. Lewis Linebrink, of Tiffin Township, Defiance County, Ohio, about 8 miles north of Defiance. God blessed them with 11 children, of which three preceded her in death, and her dear husband passed to the glory land on April 18, 1923. Their happy home was established on a farm about 8 miles north of Defiance and about nine years ago they came to Defiance and made their home at 1030 Perry Street. About a year after they were married Mrs. Linebrink made a glorious and vital Christian experience that stayed with her through every storm of life since then. Soon after her conversion, she united with the German M. E. Church at Bear Creek, Tiffin Township. She was kindness personified and everybody that knew her loved her. She never complained throughout her several years of suffering. She loved to worship God and the church services and always kept the fire burning on her family altar. As a faithful child of God, she labored hard to rear her dear children in the fear of God. Her childlike faith and trust in God, Jesus Christ, her Savior, was and always will be a challenge to all that knew her. She leaves to mourn her departure eight children: Mr. Ed Linebrink of Defiance, Ohio; Mr. Fred Linebrink of Defiance, Ohio; Mrs. Emma Marckel, Adams Township, Defiance County; Mrs. Erva Snellenberger, Payne, Ohio; Mr. Walter Linebrink, Danson, Michigan; Mr. William Linebrink, Defiance, Ohio; Mrs. Laura Fitzgerald, Evansport, Ohio; Mrs. Celia Beers, Hillsdale, Michigan, also 25 grandchildren and three brothers, Mr. Henry Radenbough of Payne, Ohio; Mr. Charles Radenbough of Harper, Michigan and Mr. George Radenbough, Antwerp, Ohio. Also many other relatives and friends shall miss her for a while until they meet again in glory. Separation from loved ones always gives us inward pain but the blessed hope of a happy reunion in heaven that Jesus has prepared for all heals the wounded hearts and brightens the way ahead. Interment was made at Riverside Cemetery on Saturday afternoon after an impressive service conducted by Rev. A. G. Kruschwitz of the Wayne M.E. Church of which the deceased was a faithful member since living in Defiance. -Defiance Crescent News, September 12, 1927.
