BARNHART DEAD Lived Here 63 Years - Funeral Tuesday Morning Mrs. Sarah Barnhart, well-known resident of Franklin county for 63 years, died this morning at 5:30 o'clock at the home of a son, Noah Barnhart of twelve miles northeast of Pomona. She had been in failing health some time and was unable to recover from a stroke of paralysis she suffered a week ago. The deceased was 93 years old this month. Sarah Flora was born near Rockymount, Virginia, January 3, 1843, the daughter of Joseph and Lizzie (Neff) Flora. She was married at Rockymount to Jacob Barnhart November 11, 1861, and his death occurred October 4, 1922. Of the eleven children born to this union, nine survive. The sons and daughters are: W.R. Barnhart, Mrs. Lloyd Sink and Mrs. Lester Sink, all of Route 4, Ottawa; Mrs. Elizabeth Coffelt, Garwood, Texas; H.A. Barnhart, Ottawa; Mrs. Will Lynch, Baldwin; Noah Barnhart, Pomona; and Mrs. Marcus Bradshaw, Peyton, Colo. There are also 26 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren of Mrs. Barnhart living. The Barnhart family moved to Franklin County from Rockymount in the spring of 1873. Mrs. Barnhart was a member of the Old German Baptist Church. The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock from the Eight Mile Church, three miles west of Centropolis. Elder Dan Flory of Lawrence will officiate, and interment is to be in Pleasant Hill cemetery.
