Visitation hours will be held from 7 to 9 Friday evening at the mortuary. Mrs. Peterson was born at Belfast, Ireland on Aug. 15, 1889. When 19 she came to the United States and to Omaha where she lived three years before coming to Aurora. On March 2, 1914, she married Alfred L. Peterson. They farmed south of Aurora until his death on Nov. 25, 1934. She moved to Aurora at that time and has lived here since. Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Jackie Fogt of Grand Island; two sons Alfred "Bus" Peterson of Grand Island and Robert Peterson of Blue Hill; two step sons, Ray of Marina Calif. and Clarence of Aurora; six grand children, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Sarah was a loving faithful wife and mother. She worked hard all her life to take care of her children before and after her husband passed. Sarah had a gentle heart of gold. She will be missed by her family. Sarah left behind wonderful memories of courage, strength and love. Sarah's father William Wray died in Ireland at age 74 on January 16, 1919. Her mother Mary Jane Calhaun/Wray (born in Belfast, Antrim, Northern Ireland abt.1851) died on June 17, 1909 at age 66 in Ireland (3 daughters passed at birth). Those living were: Jane born 1866,Thomas born 1866, Samual born 1868, Mary Ann born 1870, Rebecca born in 1784, Elizabeth born 1881. If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. A heart of gold stopped beating, two twinkling eyes closed to rest. God broke our hearts to prove he only took the best, never a day goes by that you're not missed, always in our heart's forever.
