Strawbridge in Shawnee township, this morning at o'clock, death resulting from the infirmities of old age and a stroke of paralysis, she suffered two weeks ago. She was born in Knox County, September 3, 1825, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Yoakam. She came to Allen county in the early forties and located on a farm in Shawnee township. She was born in Knox County, September 3, 1825, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Yoakam. She came to Allen county in the early forties and located on a farm in Shawnee township. She was united in marriage to George Breese Sept. 3, 1865. To this union four children were born, Charles L., now deceased; Mrs. Mary B. Strawbridge, John O., and Nancy Inez Breese, all of Shawnee township. Her husband preceded her in death 20 years ago, of which time she continued to live on the farm until a few years ago, going to the home of her daughter. She delighted to gather the grandchildren and her neighbors children around her, and relate to them some of the experiences of her pioneer life, and coming to Lima from their farm in Shawnee township when the public square was an unsightly mud hole, and hewed logs were the means of stepping from place to place. Funeral services will be held from the Shawnee church at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon. The body will be laid to rest in the Shawnee cemetery. At the time of her death she was perhaps the oldest living member of the same church and was one of its charter members.
