Olofson, daughter of Lars and Elizabeth Olofson, was born August 4, 1877, on a farm one and one-half miles west of Stratford. She was united in marriage Feb. 26, 1902, to Harry Deo. Mr. and Mrs. Deo lived in and near Stratford until 1922, when they moved to Peterson, Iowa. Mr. Deo died at Peterson July 4, 1948. Mrs. Deo moved back to Stratford in the fall of 1949, and had since made her home there. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Rask, and Mrs. Alma Estlund; three brothers, Edmund, William and Leonard Olofson. She is survived by five brothers: Albert, Mission Hill, S.D.; Ernest, Los Angeles; Elmer, Stratford; Harry, Storm Lake, and Allie Rural Route 1, Webster City. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Deo was a member of the Calvary Methodist church. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Calvary Methodist Church in Stratford, preceded by a brief prayer service at the Hanson funeral home. The Rev. Robert H. Rupert officiated. Mrs. Harold Westrum was the soloist, and Mrs. Cleo Bell was organist. Following the services, the remains were interred in the Hardin Township Cemetery. Pallbearers were J.C. Bricker, Donald Iles, Carl Wahman, Bert Wilson, O.K. Erickson and Lloyd Bell. Selma L.
