Mrs. Flint had been failing for some time and was in a coma most of last week before her death at 10 p.m. Saturday. She was 76 years old. Mrs. Flint was born in Denmark and came to the United States when she was a young woman. She was married to Mr. Flint in Chicago more than 50 years ago after [ ] there for about 3 years [ ] and her husband moved to this community where they farmed a [ ] NW of Ringsted. They have been residents of Ringsted 51 years. Eleven children, eight of whom are living, survive they mother, besides her husband. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 1:30 from the house at 2 from St. John's Lutheran Church. Rev. C.A. Stub will be in charge of the services and burial will be made at St. John's cemetery. (Unidentified Newspaper transcription, September 23, 1936) -------------------------------------- Semine Lavrette Gregerson was born August 17, 1860, at Vande, Denmark, where she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She immigrated to this country at the age of 20 and lived with her parents in Chicago until her marriage to Anders Jensen Flint on July 18, 1882. In 1885 they moved to Emmet County where they purchased a farm near Ringsted and continued living till she passed away Sept. 12, 1936 at the age of 76 years and 26 days. Four years ago they celebrated their golden wedding at the St. John's church. She was a faithful member of the church since it was organized in the pioneer days. Three children preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband and eight children: Mrs. Anne Rovn, Jens Flint, Mrs. Marie Pedersen, Mrs. Nielsine Jensen, Mrs. Kristine Nelsen, Niels Flint, Mrs. Andrea Pedersen and Mrs. Carrie Meyers. 34 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Also 2 brothers and a sister, Louis and Elsie of Gorham, Ill. and Niels of St. Louis, Mo. (Unidentified Newspaper transcription, September 24, 1936) -------------------------------------- Mrs. A.J. Flindt, pioneer settler died at her home in Ringsted a week ago Saturday evening. Mrs. Flindt had been failing in health for some time and was in a coma most of the time for a week preceding her death. Mr. and Mrs. Flindt have been residents of Ringsted for the past 51years. Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the house and two from St. John's Lutheran church. Rev. C.A. Stub had charge of the services and burial was made in St. John's cemetery. Eight children were left to mourn her death, beside her husband. They are Mrs. P.A. Pedersen, Mrs. Andrew Pedersen, Mrs. Ole Rovn, Mrs. Nels K. Nelson, Mrs. George Meyers, Mrs. Jens E. Jensen, and Mrs. [Mr.] Jens Flindt and Mr. Nels Flindt. Rev. Stub, officiated at the services. Mrs. Flindt has been failing for some time. Last week she was in a coma the most of the time. She passed away Saturday at 10 p.m. Mrs. Flint was born in Denmark. She came to America when she was s young woman. She married Mr. Flindt at Chicago more than fifty years ago. Several years later they moved to this community where they lived on a farm. Beside her husband, eight children survive their mother. Three children preceded her in death.
