Seymour Butcher, the son of David and Elizabeth Butcher was born in Harrison County on February 6, 1874 and passed away at Council Bluffs February 12, 1958 where he had been at a rest home the past three years. He lived most of his life in and near Logan. When a young man he worked with his father who ran a saw mill. Later he farmed and in 1910 moved to Logan where he did masonry work and worked as a farm hand. He was a member of the Methodist church. On August 13, 1901 he was united in marriage to Lily Dickinson and to this union one daughter was born, Ethelina Elizabeth, who is now Mrs. Adolph Voss of Logan. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three brothers, three sisters, four half brothers, and two half sisters. He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Voss of near Logan, and several nieces and nephews.
