Description	:	Funeral services for Seymour E. Anson, 89, were held here Monday at 2 p.m. at the Wolfe Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. R. W. Sweeney, pastor of the Christian Church in Red Oak. Mr. Anson died at his home here early Saturday morning. Singing at the funeral was by Cecil Weaver, accompanied by Mrs. Florence Taylor, and in charge of the flowers were Mrs. Wm. Loper, Mrs. Andy Devine, and Mrs. Walter Hyink. Pall bearers were Wm. Loper, Wade Scholey, Judd Means, Walter Hyink, Wilis Marvick, and Darwin Kendrick and interment was in the Villisca Cemetery. Seymour Ellsworth Anson, son of George H. and Susan Leah Anson, was born January 22, 1866 in Clinton County, Ohio. He joined the Christian Church at New Antiock, Ohio, December 3, 1897. His early life was spent farming at New Antioch until 1901, when he came to Iowa and settled in the Villisca acres. He was united in marriage to Minnie Belle Wilson of Villisca, on March 16, 1903, and to them were born two children, Manford E. Anson, Salem, Oregon and Lucille G. Hale, Knoxville, Iowa. Mr. Anson always had great interest in agriculture, all kinds of farming and nursery world and to those interest he devoted his entire life. He was widely known in Villisca for his contacts from the growing and sale of fruits, vegetables, and nursery products. He retired from active work in 1937, and moved to the present home on East Third Street. Besides his wife and two children, three grandchildren, he leaves two brothers, Arthur of Shannen, Ohio, and Everett of Clarksville, Ohio, a half brother and 5 half sister.
