Benjamin was drafted in April,1862 and served with the 1st. Maryland Eastern Shore (Home Guard) Inf. Was elected Sgt. Stationed at Pungoteague Warf. Virginia, Accomac Co. Contracted "Brain fever" and died during Civil War. Wife re-married soon after to John T. Horsey. Three children was given custody and raised by grandfather, James Lawson. Other marriges were as follows: to Amelia Revill(Revell)April 13th,1852. Next, to Amanda Boyd, Feb.28th.,1856. Occupation, ships carpenter, Farmer.
