Description	:	Lewis served as a Staff Sergeant, 115th Infantry, 29th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He resided in Somerset County, Maryland and was a member of the Maryland National Guard prior to the war. His National Guard unit was called into full time active Army service on February 3, 1941, prior to the war, from Crisfield, Maryland. He was noted, at that time, as being employed in Packing and also as Single, without dependents. Lewis was "Killed In Action" during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.
