He is buried in the U.S. Military cemetery at Epinal, France. Sgt. McPheeters was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond McPheeters now of Denver R.R. 1. He entered service Jan. 1, 1943 and went overseas Jan. 8, 1945 and saw immediate combat duty in Belgium and France. FUNERAL - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN) - 1948 The body of Sgt. Raymond E. McPheeters, who was killed in action in Europe, is arriving Thursday night at 8:04 over the Big Four railroad, and will be taken to the Hoover-Miner Funeral Home where friends may call. Short prayer services will be held Friday afternoon in the funeral home and graveside services will be conducted at 2 o'clock in Falls Cemetery. The American Legion will have charge of the military services and the Rev. Alfred Eddingfield will conduct the prayer services in the funeral home at at the cemetery.
